Florals
Magnolia With Laquer Bowl
The focal point of this painting is a pure white magnolia flower, plucked from a giant tree in the USA.
The red and black bowl was laquered in Japan; behind it stands a stone figurine carved by a villager in Zimbabwe; I placed the arrangement on an heirloom tablecloth from Northern Ireland.

Magnolia With Celadon Bowl
One of my series of Magnolia paintings in which I set the blooms amongst objects gathered from around the world.
To complement the pure white magnolia bloom, this painting incorporates a dainty little celadon vase I brought back from Korea, a sheer curtain from the USA, and a family heirloom tablecloth from New Zealand.
Canna Lilies
The inspiration for this dramatic watercolour was a wonderful array of canna lilies in the gardens around Niagara Falls (on the Canada side).
Internationally recognised artist Lorraine Jacobs pushed the colours to strengthen the yellows and blues; the matboard and framing have been chosen to complement the painting.
Award Winning Artist, Christchurch, New Zealand, Testimonials
I have looked at many NZ paintings but your one seems to completely define all that is great about New Zealand, the wilderness, the mountains, flora. and famous rivers. I want my son to always have a reminder of his homeland, also the South Island where his father enjoyed years of tramping and mountaineering.
